Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition Board Statement Regarding the Domestic Terrorist Threat at Lancaster Public Library Drag Queen Story Hour

We at Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition are deeply disappointed to learn about the domestic terrorist threats that forced the cancellation of the Drag Queen Story Hour at the Lancaster Public Library. These threats are an attack not just on this event, but on the very values of acceptance and diversity that our community cherishes.

Events like these are meant to bring joy to families of all backgrounds. They celebrate creativity, self-expression, and the importance of being your authentic self. These are lessons we all need, regardless of age.

Call to Action:

  • Stand with the LGBTQ+ community: Consider attending future LGBTQ+ events in Lancaster. Show your support in person!
  • Spread the word: Share positive messages amongst your friends, family, and on social media. Let’s drown out negativity with a wave of love and acceptance.
  • Contact your representatives and local officials: Let Congress know about your concern about these threats and the importance of creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ events. Urge them to support legislation that protects the LGBTQ+ community and combats discrimination.
